ABOUT POINT POSSUM PALOOZA
Preparation for the Second Annual Point Possum Palooza Festival is now underway scheduled to be held on March 29. All fun filled activities for everyone of all ages will be centered around the grounds of the Cotton Pickin' Theatre in Point from 10 am to 8 p.m.
The Point Possum Possum is produced by 501 C3 organizations Point Economic and Parks Development Corporation and People Organizng Ideal Neighborhoods Today, Inc. (P.O.I.N.T.), and by Wenzel Insurance Agency. The event is in joint efforts with the City of Point, Point Ladies Civic Club, Keep Point Beautiful and the Point Volunteer Fire Department.
Proceeds from this event will be for Phase II of the lighting of the Historic Monument of the National Farmers Union in Point, Texas. (See Historical Heritage)
This is an all day event -- Come on out for a day of Fun and excitement!!!
Several of the activities, among others, will include:
- Display of Mud Bog Trucks
- Med-a-Flight Helicopter Exhibit
- Ceremonious Flag Retirement
- Art and Crafts
- Vendor Booths
- Food Booths
- Silent Auction
- LIVE RURAL MUSICAL ENTERAINMENT (from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.)
RURAL AMERICAN MUSIC REVUE on Point Possum Palooza Day
From 2:00 to 10:00 p.m., the Cotton Pickin' Theatre will turn into the "Possum Kingdom" to present a live musical showcase of bands and singers - for performances of Country, Gospel, Bluegrass, Rock, Pop and Blues . (A $5 wrist band for in-out entry)

Event Proceeds for the Phase 2 of the lighting of the Historic National Farmers Union Monument
located on Hwy 69 in Point, Texas
A historic heritage of Point, Texas as the founding place of the National Farmers Union, established in 1902. The organization has spread to 26 states in the nation. The monument was built by People Organzing Ideal Neighborhoods Today, Inc. (P.O.I.N.T.), as non-profit 501 C-3 organization)
